Right now in Latin America, there are White millionaires burning off Native Nations’ villages and reservations to forcibly relocate them and steal their land to make plantations. This is also done by hiring gunmen and the police to harrass them out violently. This violence does not stop even after Natives are homeless and landless, as the State refuses to accomodate them, and have legal action taken agaisnt them when they try to take shelter in White landowner’s lands. They are dying, either starving, or shot with no consequences.

Here’s a link to a short BBC report about one remarkable case happening in Mato Grosso, Brazil, for the sake of example. I encourage people add more information from other countries as well.

But yeah, colonization ended centuries ago, and White Latinos don’t oppress Latinos of Color, we’re all the same race :) the Latino Race :)

THANK YOU. native genocides go under-reported & imperialism unexamined by the west largely because of vested financial & political interest in continuing to do so— globalization is literally neoimperialism, and worldwide manufacturing + agricultural dev’t on stolen indigenous lands feeds new empires under the same old oppressive practices as it has in centuries past (just with new buzzwords)— this is & always has been about more than domestic impacts of “outsourcing” to “third world” designated sweatshop and slave-labor nations & the price of year-round imported grapes.

european presence in the western hemisphere has always had its roots in plantation land grabs and genocide, and it’s never stopped. white latinxs directly benefit from this in the same way as white “africans” are direct profiteers of conquest & apartheid. and the anglo world’s linguistic & cultural push for (and embrace of white latinxs’ push for) homogenization of “latinidad” into “la raza” / a “one race” construct is a politically calculated symptom of that, because it prevents examination of these racial politics at play (including both anti-indigeneity & anti-blackness) while enabling white anglo  & white latinx èlites alike to continue to commiserate in the thus far never-ending exploitation & slaughter of peoples native to this hemisphere without public outcry or complaint.

even in how n8v ppls in both north and south america get treated as props to uplift “eco-consciousness,” as if natives aren’t being murdered for land RIGHT NOW, and aren’t being poisoned by toxic waste dumping on their lands and in their water supplies RIGHT NOW—— the erasure & devaluation of indigenous LIVES to enable land grabs (including for ecological “preservation” under settler-population control) for white anglo & white latinx usage/ownership is REAL.

and there are life or death consequences for people dying NOW, who have been treated as NONEXISTENT & spoken of in terms of “global warming” trends over the next century, or job instability when multinational corporations “take American jobs overseas” by murdering out a cheap plot of land to do it on, or carcinogens from eating too much beef from global cattle farming, or local shopping at whole foods in the united states—— if they’re mentioned at all.

because to settler cultures, indigenous lives have always been & continue to be treated as meaningless until profitable or convenient… and more often than not what’s most “convenient” is that we simply cease to fucking exist.

non-native latinxs who erase these discussions: fuck you. this is anti-indigenous racism. you are catering to genocide.

non-latinx natives who erase these discussions: fuck you, too. playing arbitrary settler border games to refuse solidarity with other indigenous peoples below the rio grande is anti-latinx racism. you are catering to genocide.

non-native non-latinxs: the same goes for y'all. do not erase these discussions.

indigenous latinxs exist, and people like me & like my family are getting brutally assaulted, tortured, and murdered every day just for existing. people are turned away from hospitals. their means of identification are destroyed. they are turned away from participating in elections and from entry to public schools (particularly when they’re poor, or when they speak their native languages or dialects rather than “proper spanish”). and once the blood dries and the plantations are established on indigenous lands, survivors are lucky if they find employment as low-income laborers who will get dragged back “home” to be exploited and face dangerous workplace exposures for pennies a day.

indigenous slaughter, enslavement, and exploitation, and the generation of a permanent uneducated native underclass, are the lifeblood of the world economy, to this day, 2016 ad, over half a millennium post-columbian contact.

we are not all one race. and anyone who tells you we are stands to profit from doing so, off the very real suffering of those who are erased & silenced.
